Tahun-tahun belakangan ini perkembangan musik khususnya Heavy metal beserta subgenre nya semakin patut diperbincangkan, bermunculan band-band "nyeleneh" mulai dari Alcest dengan "metalgaze" nya, black metal psikandelia seperti A Forest of Stars & Oranssi Pazuzu hingga band metal "avant-garde" lainya layaknya Blut Aus Nord, Diablo Swing Orchestra atau Wreck And Reference dan lain-lain sebagainya. Walaupun demikian diantara eksperimentasi yang semakin tidak waras masih saja muncul grup musik/musisi yang mencoba peruntunganya dengan sound-sound "vintage" layaknya tribute bagi para pecinta rock/metal classic era 70'an atau mungkin sebagai "persembahan" bagi para dedengkot extreme metal.
